For our IT department - to start as soon as possible

The software developer’s role is to design, code, test, and analyze software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The software developer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Planning

Ø Assist other developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications.

Ø Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects.

Ø Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications.

Ø Research and document requirements of software users.

Acquisition & Deployment

Ø Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.

Ø Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.

Operational Management

Ø Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.

Ø Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.

Ø Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.

Ø Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.

Ø Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.

Ø Install software products for end users as required.

Ø Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or appearance of company Web site and/or related Web applications as necessary.

Ø Remove code script from company Web site and/or related Web applications as necessary.

Ø Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.

Ø Manage and/or provide guidance to junior software developers and research assistants.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

Ø College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or software engineering, and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.

Ø Certifications Microsoft and/or others.

Knowledge & Experience

Ø Working technical knowledge of programming languages, including VBS, ASP, C#, C++, PHP.

Ø Experience working with enterprise applications, including Navision, SharePoint.

Ø Hands on experience working in integrated development environments, including .Net technologies.

Ø Extensive experience with Microsoft operating systems.

Ø Extensive experience with SQL database.

Ø Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including Secured web Forms.

Ø Hands-on software troubleshooting experience.

Ø Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Ø Experience with specific phases of the software development life cycle, especially Software System Design.

Ø Familiarity with Rapid Application Development methodologies.

We are seeking local, qualified and experienced Primary school teachers to do supply cover when necessary in our Anglophone Primary School section.
A good knowledge and experience of the PYP and/or IPC Curricula as well as teaching EFL, an open-minded character, experience in an international establishment and fluency in French will be an advantage.
Candidates are expected to be flexible, to show initiative and be able to work autonomously.
